Becky and Phillip Johnstone Wedding - Huntingtower Hotel, Perthshire - Wedding Photography Scotland

23rd May 2015 - Huntingtower Hotel - Perth

I met Becky and Phillip just before they embarked on a brand new adventure over the pond in America. As I sat in their living room and heard their plans for returning to Scotland the following year to have their big day day with friends and family, I left hoping I'd get a confirmation call as I knew their day was right up my street - plus I left our meeting feeling like friends (always a good sign!). Shortly after I received a call from Becky, inviting me into one of the most special days in their lives. *happy dance*

During the lead up to their wedding, as they enjoyed the 'American life' (my envy is not coming through I hope?!) ;-) We exchanged lots of emails and polaroids (I told you we 'clicked') about their travels and discoveries and also about the details of the day (I love getting sneak peeks) As it allows me to get to know clients as a couple and individually, these things always help when planning for and documenting each couples unique love story and day.

When Becky and Pip first met initially as colleagues - love at first sight it was not ;-) I think neither of them after that 'not so delightful' first meeting, would have dreamed they would be in the gorgeous, green Perthshire countryside - years later, giving themselves to one another and announcing their love in front of all those dear to them. (I adore the way 'love' works sometimes)

Jen and Ryan Wedding - Huntingtower Hotel, Perthshire.

As most of you know to ensure a personal, quality service from myself, I tend to only take on one wedding each weekend due to the effort, energy I put into these often 12-14 hour days. Although from time to time, I am offered jobs from couples that I really want to be a part of, so I bend the rule occasionally ;-)
This was most certainly so for Jen and Ryan -as often is the case I was referred to them by a previous client and upon our first consultation (to see if we were all a good 'fit') I knew it would be a day full of laughter and fun (for them and me!) After a much longer meeting than necessary (we had lots of banter) I knew I wanted to be their photographer...:-)

I arrived to find Jen with a full stomach (another good sign - no nerves...yet!), having fun with her 'girls' in her suite. This is a favourite part of the day for me, I get to sneak peeks at all the dresses, listen to all the jokes and giggles and just generally get excited with everyone before the day marches on. And a wedding always goes by soooo quickly....Hopefully these images allow my couple to savour all those moments that flew by so fast...

Urquhart Wedding

After a long delay (Life got in the way!) I am fulfilling a resolution to get up to date with sessions or weddings    I wanted to show you all.

Starting with the wedding of Vicki and Scott, I was truly honoured to be invited to cover their special day for them, within meeting them a handful of times I soon felt like they were friends not clients.

Their wedding took place at the newly renovated Huntingtower Hotel, Perth by a lovely registrar Bill (who i swear had a bit of Robin Williams about him!) Scottish weather was on their side and they managed to have their personal, intimate ceremony outside in this gorgeous countryside under our scottish skies.

As the photographer you are normally privy to the details of the day that other guests have to wait to discover. Vicki and Scott had lots of meaningful, unique moments in their day. They previously took a journey down to the River Tay and collected stones for their guests, to hold during their ceremony then return to a well at the end of their aisle, fully imprinted with all the love, luck and good wishes that all their guests wanted for them.

Vicki and Scott adored their venue because of the grounds and the wonderful trees within them. So it was fitting that they incorporated this theme into their day, I loved their idea of having a print of a tree sketching and ink, and asking all their guests to leave their fingerprints (and initials) on their print, combined they all made the 'leaves' on the tree, Super Super idea, and what a great memento to have of their day. Beats a guest book any day!
